Preface to the Database on Prices and Wages of Jiangsu Province

This database has been set up in a cooperation of the Seminar für Sinologie und Koreanistik, Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, Germany, the Institute for the History of Science and Technology and Ancient Documents of Tsinghua University, Beijing, and Department for History of China of the Faculty of East Asian Studies at Ruhr-Universität Bochum.

Data input and translations for chapters 1 to 6 were done in Tübingen by Dr. Liu Qiang from the Institute for the History of Science and Technology and Ancient Documents of Tsinghua University, Beijing. Proofreading for these parts was done in Bochum by Huang Gufeng BA and Mark Yang BA, and the files were prepared for the website by Wu Kuan-wei MA. Data input for the chapter 7 and 8 was done by Wu Kuan-wei and proofreading by Masato Murata. The database covers more than 3,000 entries.

The Jiangsu edition of "Regulations and precedents on prices of materials" used for this database is in the holdings of the Cabinet Library (Naikaku Bunko) which form part of the National Archives in Tōkyō. It is an official printing in eight chapters corresponding to the eight prefectures and three independent subprefectures of Jiangsu province. Some pages, including the last pages of the last chapter, are missing in this edition.

According to a study from 1940 by Sheng Jun*, the Jiangsu Wuliao jiazhi zeli he used carried the imprint Daoguang 10 (1830) and the seal of the Jiangsu Provincial Administration Commission. The edition in the Naikaku Bunko has no such imprint. This could imply that the Jiangsu regulations were reprinted at a later date. This is not known of any other provincial editions of Wuliao jiazhi zeli.

江蘇省《物料價值則例》數據庫前言

本《物料價值則例》數據庫是由由德國圖賓根大學漢學系、清華大學科技史暨古文獻研究所、魯爾波鴻大學東亞學系中國歷史研究所合作製作。

第一至第六卷由劉薔（清華大學科技史暨古文獻研究所）負責資料輸入及翻譯，並且由黃谷風與楊雁翔完成校對。吳冠緯負責網上發布檔案預備，並且完成第七及第八卷資料輸入，該二卷由村田正人完成校對。

本數據庫之江蘇篇，乃根據位處東京的国立公文書館之内閣文庫，該館藏之官刊本製作，全文共8卷，涵括江蘇省8個府、3個直隸州。此版本之部分頁數，包括最後一卷最後幾頁則佚失。

據盛俊1940年之研究，其引用版本「為道光十年（1930年）頒行及江蘇布政使衙門藏版字樣。」* 日本国立公文書館並未館藏此版本。這謹為江蘇省《物料價值則例》日後有重刊印之。其他省分並無出現其他版本。
