Jaewon Nielbock-Yoon has been instructing Korean language and linguistics courses at Ruhr-University Bochum's Korean Department since 2019. Her dissertation, "A Case Study on Trilingual Siblings’ Code Switching with a Focus on Korean," explored multilingual child language development. She is also an expert in bilingual education with research interests in language instruction, intercultural communication, sociolinguistics and Korean popular media. Her diverse background includes work as an intercultural consultant since 2000, and she has also taught at the University of Cologne and the University of Duisburg-Essen. She is a frequent contributor to the K-newspaper as a columnist.
