The department of East Asian Politics and the department of International Political Economy of East Asia jointly offer the single-subject Master's programme in International Political Economy of East Asia (IPEEA).

The IPEEA Master's programme builds on the content of the WPOA Bachelor's programme. The M.A. IPEEA focuses on political and economic issues and problems in the region of East Asia (China, Japan and Korea).

The M.A. IPEEA provides the opportunity to specialize in the following fields:

• Foreign & Security Policy of East Asia
• Governments and institutions of East Asia
• Political culture and history of East Asia
• Regionalisation and internationalisation
• East Asia and Global Economic Governance
• Political economics of East Asia

Thanks to AREA Ruhr (Alliace for Research on East Asia Ruhr) can stundents, in the greater context of UA RUHR, attend classes at the faculty of East Asian studies at RUB and and at  IN-EAST at the Universität Duisburg-Essen.
