Woojin Lee is currently a Professor in the Department of Education at Gongju National University of Education. He will be serving as a visiting professor at Ruhr University in Germany from March 1, 2024, to February 28, 2026. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Education from Gongju National University of Education and his Master's and Ph.D. degrees in the History of Education and Eastern Philosophy from the Graduate School of Korean Studies at the Academy of Korean Studies. And he was selected as a next-generation Korean studies scholar, conducting his research at the University of Washington.
His Master’s thesis was titled “Choi Han-gi’s Educational Theory Based on Epistemology of Gi” and his Ph.D. dissertation focused on “Wang Yangming’s Theory of Self-Cultivation.”
His primary research interests include the intellectual history of East Asia and the history of Korean education. Recently, he has also been exploring the direction of education in the era of the climate crisis.
